Harman Festival was held at Bayburt’s award-winning Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum. At the event, wheat was harvested with agricultural tools from 100 years ago.

Crops were harvested with scythes. Then they were put through the tiller. They were also given to the thresher to separate the grains from the stalk…

A “Harman Festival” was held at the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum in Beşpınar Village of Bayburt.

In the garden of the museum, which was awarded the European Union Cultural Heritage Grand Prize in 2022, wheat was harvested with agricultural tools from 100 years ago.

At the festival, forgotten agricultural tools of Anatolia were introduced. The interactive event received full marks from the villagers and visitors.

The festival enthusiasm reached its peak with the halay dance accompanied by drums and zurna.

“Our aim is to ensure that new generations learn” Museum Founder Kenan Yavuz said, “Our aim is to bring this sense of sharing beauty and working together to the agenda. We are organizing a harvest festival under the same conditions as it was held 50 or 100 years ago in order to ensure that new generations learn.”
