Lifeguards on duty at the beach helped those in danger of drowning
Lifeguards on duty on the beaches of Kocaeli and Sakarya rushed to the aid of 192 people who were in danger of drowning last week.
According to a statement from the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Beaches Water Accident Prevention Center (KOSKEM) teams continue their work to ensure the safety of those entering the sea.
Lifeguards are on duty throughout the season at the Karamürsel Altınkemer, Ereğli Kumyalı, Darıca beach, Darıca Bayramoğlu public beach and women’s beach in İzmit Bay, Bağırganlı, Seyrek, Sarısu, Kerpe, Kumcağız, Kovanağzı, Miço Bay and Cebeci public beaches in Kandıra.
Between July 29 and August 4, the teams saved a total of 163 people from drowning: 58 in Cebeci, 3 in Kovanağzı, 43 in Kumcağız, 2 in Miço Kadınlar Beach, 7 in Kerpe, 5 in Sarısu, 7 in Seyrek, 18 in Bağırganlı, 5 in Karamürsel, 3 in Ereğli Beach, 9 in Darıca and 3 in Bayramoğlu. They also provided health services to 24 citizens through ambulance units.
Lifeguards in Sakarya became a “lifesaver” for 29 people
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department lifeguard teams intervened in 29 people who were in danger of drowning last week.
Lifeguards working on the 53-kilometer coastline north of the city are working to ensure the safety of those entering the sea on the Karasu, Kocaali and Kaynarca beaches on the Black Sea.
Lifeguards, who provide service with jet skis, ATVs, all-terrain vehicles and 72 personnel in 45 towers, rushed to the aid of 29 people who were in danger of drowning due to waves and rip currents last week.
